从回来到不久的离开，很巧和刚好半年，而半年也是我能够承受的极限了！超过极限的情况这次是必须要去体验了，看来。这个夏天，真的很折腾！冒着被隔离的危险去北美、去欧洲；当然还有去桂林小玩了一把。中间回家的次数倒是不止一次，但是加起来还不超过一周。在学校蹭床铺还被通告，害得我每天出门都要把铺盖卷起来，小心翼翼地放在同一个地方。。。

 

1. 法国：巴黎、普罗旺斯。巴黎很漂亮，尤其喜欢晚上的色彩！

 注：主要目的是开会，所以放一张在这里 ：-）

 

 

btw:最后两张在一起好像有点不搭，不过从中却能看出一点不同，更喜欢后者！

 

2. 法国：阿维尼翁 (Avignon)。从巴黎到南法，即使是法国的子弹头也要3个小时，很远，很丰富，尤其是第一天的遭遇！错过站、淋雨、旅馆住不下、路边等车。。。当然还有因为等日出而错过了凡高，从而导致最终在车站无聊的3小时等等。

 

 

3. 毕业：谢导师、谢朋友、谢谢一路上遇到过的A,B,C,D…！感谢父母、姐姐、小侄女和外甥女冒着酷暑来助阵！8年抗战结束了，虽然不是什么大胜利，仍然很开心！不开心的事情都是小事，嗯，不说！:-)

 

4. 桂林。最后一站跑去了桂林，漓江很美、很梦幻！遇龙河漂流很轻、很享受！但是，桂林的机场就不怎么爽！没收我的zippo，身份证被我扔进了垃圾桶、电脑拒绝工作。。。

九马，我看不全！

 

 

    做了5天的TA，平生第一次，但肯定不是最后一次。结果，很让人frustrated，尤其是昨天晚上参加考试的同学们! 真对不起，试卷太难了，希望这不会影响到大家对ML的兴趣！

 

     会议很赞，很多很好的工作。只是每天都有些exhausted的感觉，早上8点多爬起来，每天晚上poster session都要到12点以后才尽兴。下面流水账一些比较有意思的事情：

    1. 在Detroit 去Seattle的飞机上，旁边一个小朋友偷偷的给我画了张素描，被我发现后送给我了，珍藏，呵呵。

    2. 居然有另外两个group和我做的问题一样，只是approach不同，更绝的是另外两位的approach居然identical了，好在我的approach比他们出来的早，而且更general，只是不知道他们后面的文章怎么发。

    3. Mike Jordan还和05年差不多，每次见到他他周围都围了很多人。

    4. 在Whistler居然有眼不识泰山，错过了Tommi君，很后悔！后来再也没有冒冒然去搭讪，免得被他揭穿。

    5. Vancouver真是一个烧钱的好地方，没钱千万不要在那逗留。

    6. 在Vancouver的一家店里，老板娘不停的说英文，最后快走的时候她居然中文说出了某个令男生孜孜以求的xxx，当时很汗，她说一直以为我是日本人（以前被认为是韩国人），然后发现从英文切换到中文也不容易。

    7. 在Vancouver机场被一pp小mm盯着，很不好意思，最后在Seattle错开了，很后悔，呵呵。

    8. 最大的遗憾是没带相机，不过回来后发现50D又降了>150$，再等！

   虽然等待更漫长，却没有了去年的新鲜感和收到信件的高兴；

   一年，很长，可以淡忘很多，坦然很多；

   半年，也会很长，应该可以更平静、更坦然；

   research，很有意思，但我却不如其他人那样确信，自己是适合的；

   家，很温暖，明天就要回去了，在下次suffer到来之前；

   每一个晚上，很喜欢！ 

 

A professor stood before his Philosophy 101 class and had some items in front of him.

 

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.

 

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

 

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous …..yes.

 

The professor then produced two cans of beer under the table and proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now", said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life…

 

- The golf balls are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favorite passions, things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full."

 

- "The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car.

 

- The sand is everything else – the small stuff."

 

If you put the sand into the jar first", he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. Play another 18. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal."

 

"Take care of the golf balls first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

 

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled. "I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of beers.

 

   第一个Journal paper，主要是为了毕业需要写的；不过，也算趁机把在MSRA做的所有工作做了一个系统的整理和总结吧。当得知被assign给John的时候，还是很紧张的，主要是因为我们认识的缘故。想想也奇怪了，为什么紧张通常会发生在和比较熟悉的人之间呢？如果是一个完全不相干的人，或许什么事情都没有了，我就是我，爱问不问。。。
